We believe Parrs Wood Sixth Form provides the ideal stepping stone between the sheltered world of school and the independence of university or work.

In many ways Parrs Wood offers you the freedom of a college - you will be free to leave the campus during study periods, you can wear your own clothes and we encourage you to take responsibility for your own progress and learning. On the other hand we recognise that you have just left school and are still growing, and so we provide you with the support and guidance that we feel you will need to enable you to achieve your potential - personal, social and academic.

The college is big enough to thrive but small enough to matter. Make new friends, take on new challenges. We will be with you every step of the way.

The leap from GCSE to A-Level is a challenge, but it can also be extremely rewarding. To succeed at A-Level you will need to be motivated, determined and dedicated. We’ll be with you all the way. Teaching you. Mentoring you. Chasing you if you don’t hand in your coursework on time. But the responsibility is yours. To be a success at A-Level and beyond you have to choose to be an independent learner. It’s up to you to ask questions if you don’t understand a piece of work. It’s up to you to do extra research to give you a wider understanding of your subjects. It’s up to you to be the best that you can be.
