Welcome to Parrs Wood Sixth Form. Our Sixth Form has a proud academic tradition. For a college our size we consistently support exceptionally high numbers of students to gain entrance to Oxbridge, Russell Group Universities and courses in Medicine, Dentistry and Vetinary Science. Last year 43% of our Year 13 students went on to study at Russell Group Universities, which compares very favourably with other local providers. In the last 3 years 19 students (3% of the total cohort size) have left us to study at Oxford and Cambridge. The progress our students make in the Sixth Form is outstanding and all credible national indicators of performance highlight the fact that our students, whatever their prior attainment, make excellent progress in the College.
At the heart of this success lies a tight-knit community characterised by friendly and supportive relationships. Our student population is diverse and full of character and personality. The teaching staff work tirelessly to provide the right level of support and challenge to enable all students to thrive and our much-smaller-than-average class sizes help to guarantee an experience that is intimate and personalised.
The core values of the college are based upon mutual respect, aspiration and belief in oneself and others. We are much more than just an ‘exams factory’ and place a great deal of emphasis on the development of the whole student. Our students are role models for others and they consistently demonstrate the human qualities needed to become responsible and successful members of the wider community.
We attach a great deal of significance to enrichment opportunities and our students engage in a wide range of activities from the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme to Mandarin lessons and from Sports Leadership Courses to our nationally renowned Debating Society.

We would be delighted to see you on our Open Day; however, if you would like to visit the College at a different time we would be delighted to show you around.
