Well done to Natasha Seth, Turab Tirmazi and Nour Alsabbagh in Year 7 for proudly representing Parrs Wood at the Regional Finals of the Spelling Bee Competition at Trinity High School on the evening of Thursday 30th March.
The event was organised by Routes into Languages, a consortium of universities working together with schools to enthuse people to study languages.
The students competed against other schools in the North West for one of the four places available for the national finals. They had to learn 150 words and their spellings in French. They were given one minute to spell correctly as many words as possible in front of the judges and the audience. There were nerves and excitement and they all managed to put in a fantastic performance. The standard was high and all three agreed it had been a worthwhile experience.
Thanks to the three spelling bees for their tremendous effort and commitment during the different stages of the competition. A special thank you also goes to Mrs Ware who accompanied the students to the event and also helped out as a judge!
