ADVICE AND GUIDANCE FOR PARENTS ON CURRENT ISSUES
Message from Headteacher
As you know our city was the victim of a terrible act of evil last night. Many of our school community were affected including our students, parents, staff, neighbours, and friends.
One of our shared values is ‘Community’ and with that in mind, it is vitally important that we, at Parrs Wood stand together and do everything we can to support each other at this time.
It is a time to work together and show those who wish to divide us, that they will not succeed. The emergency services response was incredible and it was amazing to see so many of our fellow
citizens supporting the victims. I was very proud to call Manchester my home.
As of yet we do not know if anyone in our immediate community was physically injured, however, many of our students were at the concert and witnessed the upsetting events.
If you feel students need support, give them 5 minutes in lessons (eg either to put their head down or step outside) in the first instance.
Our Inclusion Classroom will be open for extra assistance today in the main school for anyone who feels they need support.
Finally, it is essential that we remember those directly affected, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and we as school will be there for them.
