Please follow this link and vote for Parrs Wood in the M&S Energy fund competition to help raise funds to make environmental improvements to our music department

Parrs Wood students have worked hard to get through to the final of the M&S Energy fund competition to try to win extra funding to make much needed environmental improvements to our very busy Music Department which acts as a central hub for our thriving performing arts program. Each year Parrs Wood students put on concerts and performances not only in school but also the local community, often raising money for local charities, such as the Manchester one love concert. Our music department facilities are also regularly used by members of the public. Please follow the link and vote for our project out now to help us win this necessary funding.

Huge congratulations to our students on their A Level Results !

Students nominated 'Stars of the Week' 11-09-17

Huge congratulations to our students on their GCSE Results !

We are incredibly proud of the GCSE class of 2017 who achieved great results, particularly given the national context of new examinations, more challenging thresholds, and a fall in the national figures.

Parrs Wood achieved 69% of students with 'standard' passes of 4+ in English and Maths and 45% at the new 'gold standard' of 5+ passes in English and Maths. We are really proud that almost 25% of our entries were awarded with an A* / A grade.

Particular congratulations to:
- 43% (15.3%) students who achieved 5 or more A*/A/9/8/7 grades
- 35 (12.4%) students who achieved 6 or more A* /A/9/8/7 grades
- 12 students who achieved straight A*/A/9/8/7 grades
- 33 (4%) of our student entries who achieved the highest possible grade of 9 in English / Maths

Huge congratulations to our students on their A-Level Results !

Congratulations to the year 13 of 2017. Once again, the students achieved excellent results, despite the increased challenge of the new linear A2 examinations. Over 28% of all grades were A*/A. We are extremely proud of them.

It is a real credit to the students and a reward for their sustained effort and ability. The vast majority gained their first choice at University. In addition, some of our students re-sat units or re-applied for University; 3 students were successful in gaining places to study Medicine and 2 for Optometry. We at Parrs Wood would like to wish all of our students’ ever future success. We know they will be a make a significant difference.
