WELCOME TO PARRS WOOD |
 |
On behalf of the Parrs Wood community, I am very proud to introduce you to Parrs Wood High School. Parrs Wood is a Specialist Technology College, which caters for nearly 2000 students, including a thriving Sixth Form that has a proven record of academic excellence for A-level study.
Whilst Parrs Wood continues to be one of the most popular and over-subscribed schools in Manchester, our dedicated team of teaching and support staff recognise the importance of maintaining high expectations, high standards and personal continued professional development in order to provide the best educational environment for our pupils.

HEADTEACHER'S BULLETIN |
STARS OF THE WEEK |
Dear Parents and Carers
May I begin this week’s newsletter by reminding parents and carers of year 7 pupils that our ‘Year 7 Parents Evening’ will be taking place on Thursday 9th February from 4.30pm until 7.00pm. Parents Evenings provide a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with your child’s teachers, be informed of your child’s progress, and gain an insight into how your child can further develop their learning. We ask that you please encourage your child to make appointments with their subject teachers and we very much look forward to seeing you then....

LAUNCH OF 'ECLIPSE. NET' - NEW LIBRARY SOFTWARE
This is your gateway to books, websites and other resources in school.
Have fun using the new interface and make sure you familiarise yourself with all the new features. Don’t be afraid to click on the links to find out what information is behind them.
Why not write a review about the books you have read and websites you have visited, to help other students in school when they are researching using Eclipse.net.

READ INTERNATIONAL BOOK APPEAL
READ is a charity that collects books and sends them to third world countries like Tanzania and Uganda. They rely on people to donate unwanted or used books to the charity, so they can be sent to where they are really needed: improving access to education to hundreds of thousands of children in East Africa.
Bring in your unwanted educational books and novels to send to the Third World.
Sixth Form students are arranging collection points.
